假设语气的特殊句型

1.It is high time that I left. 我是该走了。

It is (high) time)后接简单过去式，表示早该...的时候了。

2.Don't go my dear brother. 别走，我的好兄弟。

Alone by myself,I wouldn't have been delighted. 如果我单独一个人我是不会感到愉快的。

alone by myself相当于If I had been alone by myself.

3.You look very upset today. 你今天看上去不开心。

What's wrong? 出什么事了？

Jane refused my 100th proposal. 珍拒绝了我第100次求婚。

Poor young man. 可怜的年轻人。

Were I Jane,I would be very pleased to marry you. 如果我是珍，我会很高兴嫁出你。

假设语气中的副词子句可以省略连接词If,子句中的助动词had,were,should等要移至主词之前。

4.Would that Jane accepted my proposal. 珍要是接受我的请求就好了。

would表示“希望”，“但愿”等意思时，其后由that引导的子句可以表示与事实相反的假设语气，would之前的主语常被省略。

5.Cheer up,Peter! 振作起来，彼得！

Even if you failed,you shouldn't give up. 即使你失败了，也不应放弃。

Even if ...表示即使...也。

6.Right 101st proposal. 对！第101次求婚。

May you succeed! 祝你成功！

may+原型动词是假设语气的一种形式，表示祝愿。

7.Hi!Peter!What happened? 嗨！彼得！怎么样了？

Jane sent me a bundle of flowers. 珍给了我一束花。

But she forgot to pull the flowers out from the flowerpot.
